Nominations are now being received for the Southeast Quality Milk Initiative (SQMI) Awards Program. The goal of the program is to recognize dairy producers from FL, GA, KY, MS, TN, and VA who have successfully placed high priority on producing milk of the highest quality.
Dairy industry professionals including veterinarians, extension agents, plant and co-op field staff, consultants, and others are encouraged to nominate producers. Producers can be nominated using the 1-page form here. The form may be completed on your computer (or printed and completed manually).

SQMI judges will screen the applicants from FL, GA, KY, MS, TN, and VA, and the top producer from each of the six states will be selected for an award. Applications will be evaluated for measures of milk quality, systems of monitoring udder health, milking routine, protocols for detection and treatment of clinical and subclinical cases, strategies for overall herd health and welfare.
Winners will receive regional recognition and complimentary lodging, registration, and a travel stipend to the 2016 SQMI annual meeting to be held November 16-17, 2016, at the UGA Tifton Campus Conference Center, Tifton, GA.
